Winter/Spring PDP Workshops on English Language Learners and Special Education

Being offered in Springfield, Holden and Quincy.

Participants of these free workshops will earn 15 PDPs in the appropriate category for each workshop.

  • Teaching and Reaching ELLs Through Picture Books for All Educators – February 20 & 21, Springfield
  • Creating Success with English Learner Students – March 2 & 16, Holden
  • Weaving SEL into Your Classroom to Make a Big Difference for Special Needs Students – March 2 & 16, Holden
  • The Differentiated Classroom – April 16 and 17, Springfield
  • Supporting Students with Special Needs in Your Classroom – April 17 & 18, Quincy
  • Closing Academic Achievement Gaps through Language Opportunity – April 18 & 19, Quincy

Registration for these workshops will open on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 4PM.

2019 MTA Summer Conference! Call for Proposals.

MTA’s Division of Training & Professional Learning is seeking proposals for the 2019 MTA Summer Conference. This conference is scheduled to run August 4-7, 2019, on the University of Massachusetts-Amherst campus.

The conference provides workshops related to union skills and leadership, racial justice in education, professional practice and other areas of professional interest. It attracts a variety of MTA members from public schools and higher education, including teachers, faculty, professional staff, education support professionals and retirees.
This request for proposals is for all Summer Conference workshops-both professional practice and union skills and leadership.

The due date is February 3, 2019, at 11:59 PM.
Presenters will be compensated and/or provided with room and board for the days of the conference that they are presenting.
