Summer Organizing

The Affiliate Service Division is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Summer Member Organizer who will carry out the summer organizing plans for two summer programs: MTA Summer Program and National Education Association (NEA) Funded Summer Program. Out ideal candidate will contact, educate and engage members over the summer months. Both programs include canvassing (door knocking) and phone banking. The goal of our canvass and phone bank program will be to engage in intentional conversations with our members. The successful candidates will receive ongoing training and will apply the organizing skills that they’ve learned to assist in the orientation of new members within their locals. 

The MTA Summer Program is a 5 week program working 25 hours per week. The compensation for this position is $625 per week and includes business mileages. The NEA Summer Program is a 6-7 week program, working 30 hours per week. The compensation for the NEA Summer Program is $750 per week and includes business mileage. In order to participate in the NEA Summer Program, you must be a member of the MTA in the following areas: Worcester, Southbridge, Haverhill, Revere, Gloucester, New Bedford, Wareham, Dennis-Yarmouth.
